Deep Democracy Foundations – December 2024

  • Deep Democracy December 2024

ABOUT THIS EVENT

WHAT IS DEEP DEMOCRACY?

Developed in post-apartheid South Africa and practiced in over 20 countries around the world, Deep Democracy is a facilitation methodology particularly useful for resolving relationships and group dynamics that are emotionally charged or marked by diversity and difference.

Effective facilitation requires more than tools and techniques. The most effective facilitators marry tools and techniques with awareness & insight into group process, and discernment into how to help groups most effectively.

In the Foundations course, facilitators gain powerful foundational Deep Democracy tools and techniques that can be immediately applied on the job. In this course you will

  • Develop skills for facilitating conversations and helping groups make sound decisions that stick
  • Learn how to head off polarization and help groups engage productively with conflict
  • Increase your ability to read groups dynamics and lead groups effectively
  • Gain tools for healing interpersonal rifts that impede team effectiveness
  • Increase your capacity to help groups achieve real commitment and engagement through participation
  • Learn how to use good process and facilitation to ensure that little tensions and differences are resolved and don’t become unmanageable conflicts
